Introduction
The Fairy Queen which finds mention in the "Guinness Book of World
Records" is the oldest running steam locomotive in the world. For an
idyllic weekend trip between Delhi and Alwar, the Fairy Queen comes to the
rescue of those bored with the same old blase ways of traveling around the
place.
Fairy Queen Schedule
The Fairy Queen is sceduled to depart every second and fourth Saturday of
every month from Delhi Cantonment Railway Station at 10:00 hrs. Reporting
time is 09.00 hrs at Delhi Cantonment Railway Station.

The Fairy Queen locomotive hauls an AC chair car coach accomodating 50 tourist
with an attached pantry car for on - board catering services to the delight
of the holidaymakers. As an added attraction , the coach has a beautiful
lounge in the front , which provides full view of the Fairy Queen while
on run.

The fairy queen is the oldest working broad gauge steam locomotive in the
world and was built in the year 1855 by the British firm Kinston, Thompson
& hewitson for the British firm east India railways. This train will
have only a first class (non - airconditioned) chair car having 50 seats
and a pantry car for on board catering. The traditional reception and a
cultural evening will be organized on the evening of day one at the Tiger
Den Hotel.
